Chris Sperring, Conservation Officer for the Hawk and Owl Trust, is coming back to The Community Farm to help us make nesting boxes for owls and other farmland birds.
Join us for a fun afternoon building nest boxes for farmland birds.
On the day
1pm – 2pm: Assembly of nest boxes for tawny owls, wrens, blackbirds, robins, nuthatch, blue tits and great tits. Tools such as screwdrivers will be provided. There are no saws or dangerous cutting materials so children are welcome.
Chris Sperring will provide a highly entertaining talk and share his knowledge of barn owls, tawny owls and little owls and tell you how we plan to manage the farm in future so they will find a welcome home here.
2pm – 4pm: Chris will help us mount the boxes on farmland trees and in the hedgerows.
*Hot drinks will be provided.
