Learn this sustainable and ecological way to manage field margins!

This ancient tool is making a comeback. It's an effective low tech and low carbon alternative to strimmers and lawn mowers, as well as being fun and satisfying activity. Scything is perfect for mowing small meadows, weeds (such as nettles, grassy verges) and even lawns.

During the day we will be learning how to scythe, pitchfork and rake effectively. You'll also learn all about the different types of scythes and how to set them up and sharpen them.

Please bring a packed lunch, sensible outdoor footwear, working gloves as well as waterproofs/sun hat.
