We’re organic……not-for-profit……. a growing community!
Welcome to the Community Farm’s website. We’re working to transform farming, growing organically on a farm owned by its members and providing healthy food direct to your door. It’s all very new; the members officially took over the farming, box scheme and wholesale business as a not-for-profit organisation in April 2011.
Set in the Chew Valley between Bristol and Bath we grow organic vegetables on 22 acres of land. We run a vegetable box delivery service and wholesale business, but we’re also a little bit different…….
We aim to grow vegetables and fruit in the most sustainable way we can and link a diverse membership to where their food is produced.
Our members have a say in how the farm operates and have invested in the future of a farm that is contributing to the resilience of our food security, the local economy, and to the development of a self-sustaining, low-carbon food and farming system.
At the farm we are interested in providing activities, courses, volunteer days and holding special events for our members. Interest has been expressed in care farming, faith in food, and business team building days. We believe in increasing knowledge of growing, giving hands-on experience and the chance to acquire new skills offered to people from all walks of life. In this way we can reconnect people to where their food comes from and give them a greater understanding of what it takes to produce it.
Our organic veg box scheme stands for everything great about organically grown seasonal produce. We make all of our boxes up for the home cook, balancing out the best seasonal produce with the practical considerations of what you need to get your dinner on the table. With a wide selection of boxes available we know there is something here for everyone. You don’t have to be a member to have a box (but if you are you get a 10% discount on orders!), so why not dive in and join us on our seasonal journey.
