Alison says goodbye to the farm

We'd like wish a fond farewell and say a huge thank you to Alison Belshaw, our Project Manager, who will be leaving The Community Farm later this month.

Here's Alison's goodbye message:

"As many of you know I’ve been the Farm’s Project Manager since before it became a legal entity and have worked for the Farm for the past four and a half years.

I was one of those instrumental in setting up the farm, launching and managing the first share offer and assisting and guiding on governance, funding, community engagement, strategy and other matters.

Over the course of my time at the farm I have raised, through grants, contracts and donations, over half a million pounds! I have decided to move on from the farm and I leave in mid-December. I am proud of what I have achieved over the years and am delighted to have met so many of you over the course of that time.

In particular I am pleased to have been able to raise the funds for the Farm to implement parts of its social remit including full-time volunteer support to increase volunteer numbers, and negotiated a contract to enable five trainees this year to become Future Growers.

Obviously all of these things have not been achieved alone. I will miss the fantastic team of people that I have worked with from staff, members, Board, volunteers, trainees and those from other organisations.

I wish the farm all the best for the future in providing, as it set out to do a community-owned sustainable model of farming, reconnecting people to the food they eat.

I will leave the farm in mid-December but I hope to see some of you next year when I’m able to come and volunteer at Community Farmer Days."
