Nature Connection & Land-Based Skills Course
In a world that continually asks more of us, this four-week course offers space to slow down, reconnect with nature, and explore practical land-based skills. It is designed for anyone seeking a gentler rhythm, curious about ecological care, or wanting to grow lifelong skills in a supportive setting.
Thursdays 10am - 3pm.
Our Approach
Each session blends hands-on experience with quiet reflection, helping you rekindle ecological awareness and deepen your relationship with the land and community. You’ll learn practical skills such as planting, tool care, seasonal tasks, and wildlife awareness, whilst also engaging in sensory-based practices that foster calmness and mindfulness.
Joining the course is an invitation to be part of what is at the heart of The Community Farm, where people and nature flourish together, nourished by a better food system. Guided by awareness, care, and shared responsibility rippling across land and community.
Course Structure
The course includes four immersive sessions with a simple shared lunch made from farm-grown produce.
Week 1 – Mindful Presence on the Land
Arriving on the land, we will explore simple nature-based practices that help us slow down, tune into our senses, and notice the life around us.
Week 2 – Knowing the Land
Through gentle surveying and attentive observation of wildlife and organic farming, we cultivate awareness and understanding of their interactions—learning in ways that naturally guide the practical land-based skills explored in Week 3.
Week 3 – Practical Land-Based Skills
Spend time with the land, learning through hands-on practice. Exploring traditional land-based skills, habitat care, and agroecology farming—Here we are learning by doing and bringing the awareness and principles gained in Week 2.
Week 4 – Story, Community & Celebration
Celebrate what’s grown, both within and around you. We’ll cook and share food, tell stories, and pause together to notice and reflect—a simple, heartfelt gatherings to honour the season and our time on the land.
