Group Experience Days

Bring a group to The Community Farm for a hands‑on, restorative day on the land, and experience an away day that reconnects people with nature and each other.

Whether you choose farming, wildlife conservation or natural crafts, these days are designed to strengthen teamwork, boost wellbeing, and give participants a meaningful sense of contribution.

You can also combine Experience Days with venue hire in our beautiful roundhouse or yurt.

If you’re a small not-for-profit organisation aligned with our aims, we may be able to offer discounted visits to The Farm. Get in touch with to find out more.

Modern work is busy, screen‑based, and often fragmented but a day at The Farm offers tangible tasks with visible achievements, genuine teamwork and real connection. Spending time outdoors and engaging in physical activity can help to reduce stress, improve mental clarity and increase feelings of purpose and belonging. You will return grounded, energised and closer as a group.

Rather than a simulated team challenge, you'll be having a real world impact by helping us improve local access to nutritious, sustainable food and care for wildlife.

Your day will include:

  • A warm welcome and introduction to The Farm
  • Guided, hands‑on tasks tailored to your group’s ability and interests
  • Opportunities to learn about organic farming, wildlife and sustainability
  • Breaks to relax in nature and soak in the views across the countryside and Chew Valley Lake
  • A shared experience that feels different, memorable and genuinely rewarding

You can also add on:

  • A range of professional catering options, all using produce from The Farm
  • Subsidised organic veg boxes to take away
We can tailor the day to your interests, but here is a flavour of what you could choose:

Farming

Spend time growing food with us. You will find out where your food comes from, learn about organic growing and help grow food for the local community. As the season progresses, so do the tasks, but expect to be involved with seed sowing, preparing beds, planting out, weeding or harvesting.

Wildlife Conservation

Help us to create a biodiverse and nature-rich landscape. You could be helping us maintain our nectar-rich flower borders, bramble bashing, hedgerow care, planting for pollinators, building nest boxes or insect hotels, carrying out wildlife surveys or planting native trees. You’ll learn how to identify native plants, insects and birds, why wildlife is important for farming and how to support biodiversity in a farmed landscape.

Nature Connection & Natural Crafts

We will provide your group with the opportunity to connect with the land and each other, learn new skills, and improve personal and group resilience. Your day could include a guided walk, mindfulness activities, learning natural crafts such as willow weaving or making natural prints.

Health & Safety

All of our workplace visit days have been risk assessed by members of staff. Any external facilitators on The Farm have also completed their own risk assessments of activities.

We’ll provide you with a Health and Safety induction and Risk Assessment. We also have public liability insurance in place.

Site Accessibility

While we do have accessible areas and facilities for wheelchair users and people with restricted mobility, much of our site is not yet suitable for those in wheelchairs.

Activity practicalities

Due to the unpredictable nature of farming (and the weather!), it can be hard to judge what we’ll be doing in advance, therefore, we won’t be able to provide an exact picture of what we’ll be doing on the day at the time of booking – but we can give you an outline based on the time of year, how our crops are doing and the weather forecast.
