Seasonal Organic Growing Course - Autumn
A friendly, 6-week course offering a gentle, practical introduction to growing fruit, vegetables, and herbs using organic methods.
Wednesdays 10am - 3pm.
If you aren't able to commit to the full 6-week course, individual days are available.
Overview
Do you feel overwhelmed by your garden — or wish you had the confidence to grow your own food? Maybe you only have a small space or a few pots and wonder if it’s even possible. Or perhaps you simply want to reconnect with nature, slow down, and enjoy the growing process alongside others.
This friendly, 6-week course offers a gentle, practical introduction to growing fruit, vegetables, and herbs using organic methods — no experience necessary. Whether you have a windowsill, a few containers, or a full garden, you’ll gain the tools and confidence to start, wherever you are.
Each week combines hands-on learning and time outdoors, encouraging you to:
- Reconnect with the seasons and your growing space
- Learn the basics of organic growing in a way that’s simple and accessible
- Try out creative approaches for small-space and low-maintenance gardening
- Discover what can be planted, harvested, and enjoyed throughout the current season
- Build your confidence by growing alongside others in a relaxed, supportive setting
Set in a beautiful learning area — with raised beds, herbs, and a forest garden — this is a welcoming, informal space to ask questions, experiment, and enjoy the process. Group sizes are kept small to allow for tailored guidance and plenty of shared discussion. A simple, shared lunch made from farm-grown produce is included.
Approach
As we garden, we’ll unearth many benefits for our wellbeing — from connecting with others and moving our bodies through the rhythm of garden tasks, to noticing seasonal changes, learning new skills, and giving back to the group through shared knowledge and support.
Each session includes practical activities, time for reflection, and printed resources to help you keep learning at home. Over the six weeks, you'll build on your skills step by step, growing not only plants — but confidence, curiosity, and a deeper connection to the land.
Whether you're a complete beginner or simply want to approach your garden in a more mindful and joyful way, this course offers space to grow — in every sense of the word.
