About Us

British ORGANIC Fruit and Vegetable boxes from us!

Government minister, Owen Paterson, has today said that we should be buying more British fruit and vegetables to boost the economy. We think these should be organic too!

Talking at the Oxford Real Farming Conference he stated that we import 24% of our food in the UK. In fact, the figures for fruit and vegetables are much higher with imports for fruit around 90% and vegetables around 60% and total food imports around 40%.

To do your bit in supporting the local economy, why not sign up for one of our organic vegetable boxes? In particular the Gert British or Farmer's Choice will give you some of the best seasonal organic vegetables available at the time. Many of these will be from our own field or our co-operative of Somerset growers.

To provide a full range of boxes, and the bananas that everybody loves, we do import too, but never airfreight and we work with organic suppliers.

The Community Farm is a social enterprise and owned by its 500 members. We grow on 28 acres of land in the Chew Valley near Bristol. We work with Somerset growers including Plowright Organic. We deliver to Bristol, Bath, Frome and the Chew Valley.

Our aim is to reconnect people to the food that they eat. We work with volunteers and provide training and education too!

So, why not support a local business supplying local food for local people?
