Outdoor activities and cookery

The Community Farm is working in collaboration with Earthwise to run a whole host of activity days in the months to come. There is a little something for everyone.

'BBC Cook of the year' Jo Ingleby will be teaching us how make the best of what the season has to offer with her Autumn Plot to Plate: seasonal vegetarian cookery day (3 October) and her Festive Family Cookery day (19 December)
Jo will also be cooking up a storm with the little ones for the Pick, Cook, Eat! children's cookery day (30 October). During the day participants will get the chance to harvest crops from the farm's beautiful fields and then learn the skills to transform them into a tasty vegetarian feast to share.

Half-term activity days

Join us for some farm and forest fun and frolics this October half-term (22-29 October)!

We have a Farm Explorer Day (22 October) for the ultimate farm experience - harvesting, simple cookery, mini-beast hunts, pond-dipping, outdoor games...the works!

Earthwise will also be running the popular Forest School (26-29 October) in Chew Stoke for children age five-seven and eight-twelve. Children will be learning the safe use of hand tools, fire making, camp-fire cookery and learn how to make music from the forest.

Discount for members

We’re delighted that Earthwise is offering all Community Farm investors and Carrot Club members a 10% discount on all of the workshops mentioned above (both at The Community Farm and elsewhere). We will email you details of how to claim your discount.
