Stand with The Community Farm - Don’t let the cost of living crisis cost the Earth

The Community Farm is struggling financially. Our future is on a knife edge. This is what’s happening and how you can help.

When the industrialised food system faltered in the pandemic, hundreds of extra families turned to us for help. And we delivered - to almost 1,000 households a week - as well as providing meals at home to vulnerable people who were isolating.

After lockdown we knew some customers would go, but the dramatic recent fall experienced across the organic sector, along with rising costs, has hit us hard. So, as a non-profit ‘Community Supported Agriculture’ project, we are calling for your help. Together we can build a better local food system in response to the ever-growing climate, biodiversity and human health crises.

Over the last 12 years we’ve turned empty fields into a thriving local hub that means so much to so many. Our fields are abundant with food, wildlife and community. Every year, thousands of local people benefit physically and mentally from courses, events and volunteering on our fields.

We’ve overcome many hurdles to get to this point and now we’re evolving again to get through the cost of living crisis, but we need the support of people in our community.

How you can support us
  • Sign-up for a veg box!
Our boxes are bursting with brilliant British produce right now.
If you aren’t able to buy a veg box, our Veg Shed is open at The Farm every Saturday.
If you'd like to buy a veg box for someone else, please contact Sally.

  • If you already have a box, add a little extra to your order.
If all customers ordered a little bit more, it would make a huge difference.

  • Get a friend to sign-up.
Talk to family & friends. Share who we are, what we do and why it matters. Use social media to tell everyone about us.

  • Post flyers along your street; put posters up on your gate, at your workplace, school or church.
Sign-up here if you are interested.

  • Become a shareholder.
Join over 500 members who have invested in The Farm and have a say in how we’re run. You can join yourself or gift a share to someone else.

  • Donate.
If you’re short of time or aren’t able to sign-up to a veg box, then making a one-off or regular donation on our Localgiving page will help enormously.

  • Hire our venues.
We have beautiful community spaces available, overlooking Chew Valley Lake.

  • Volunteer on our fields.
Come and farm with us, volunteers are the heart and soul of all we do and are always welcome.

  • Share this with local groups and on social media:

The Community Farm in the Chew Valley, a non-profit farm that grows and delivers organic veg to Bristol and Bath, is really struggling because of the cost of living crisis. It does lots of social and community projects too, welcoming thousands of people onto the land. They desperately need support so if you'd like an organic veg box, or could even make a donation, please help if you can: thecommunityfarm.co.uk
