About Us

Summer is here - celebrate with fabulous food!

This week we've added some fresh herbs to our fresh produce range to encourage you all to create some great summer dishes that can be enjoyed outside in the sunshine. Fresh basil, mint, coriander and thyme are all available next week. So, with the May Bank Holiday upon us, make the most of the extra time to create exciting and tasty dishes.

Basil is just perfect for tearing up and sprinkling over tomatoes, courgettes, peppers and tiny new potatoes and roasting in the oven with a good splash of olive oil, lashings of garlic, salt and freshly ground pepper. A glug of balsamic vinegar adds that touch of sweetness. Making a jug of classic Pimms is an ideal excuse to break out the fresh mint. It's the quintessential English summer drink and so easy to make. Pour one part Pimm's with three parts lemonade over a generous amount of ice. Add mint leaves, thin cucumber slices, orange slices, apple slices, strawberries - whatever you fancy - but don't leave out the mint, it's what makes this drink so special.
New additions to our ambient range of foods are 2 great flours from Shipton Mill, near Tetbury. What better excuse than a Bank Holiday weekend to create your own fresh bread to enjoy alongside your savoury dishes, or try it with some of the gorgeous Tayberry jam, marmalade or chuckly chutney made for us by Hembridge Organics near Shepton Mallet.

We have also decided to offer our store cupboard essentials individually. Recognising that very few of us have the space to store bulk items, we are offering individual tins of organic chopped tomatoes, coconut milk, and baked beans, as well as pasta and porridge oats. However, we are still selling our popular olive oil, peanut butter and the chopped tomatoes in bulk.

Whatever you cook, enjoy the sunshine.
