Western Quest Cycle Tour visiting the farm!

A colourful convoy of young cycling superheroes from the Otesha Project UK will be visiting The Community Farm to spread the word far and wide about planet-friendly, people-friendly living. The team of volunteers will pedal across the South West, stopping at schools along the way to inspire pupils to take creative and positive action towards a more sustainable future. They visit schools, communities and festivals to deliver a high energy play, followed by creative hands-on workshops that deal with issues of sustainability and equality - exploring things like the glory of green grub, low carbon travel and fairtrade products. Find out how the food you buy affects people on the other side of the world. Find out which is the most efficient mode of transport EVER (this may be easier to guess). Or plunge your hands in the soil as you learn how to grow your own fruit and veg! We explore the wider consequences of our every day decisions and empower them to make a positive change.

The Community Farm is delighted to be able to offer the cyclist a place to rest their weary legs. They will also be around helping on the Community Farmer Day on 1st September so if you'd like to meet some of the people involved who will also entertain volunteers with a 20 minute play at some point during the day, then sign up to the volunteer day here.
