Regular Volunteering Programme

Our regular volunteering programme runs throughout the year. Volunteers are invited to help with general farm work every Tuesday and Thursday, and we also run wildlife surveying sessions from March to October.

Field Volunteering

Our field volunteers help with a wide variety of seasonal tasks and play an important role in all aspects of growing our crops. Activities change throughout the year and can include preparing the ground, planting, weeding, maintaining crops, harvesting, and, of course, a little essential taste-testing along the way!

Tuesday sessions are staff-led and open to everyone, whether you're a new volunteer, a regular volunteer, or simply interested in visiting for a one-off session.

Thursday sessions are self-directed and designed for volunteers who attend regularly and feel confident carrying out tasks independently, without staff supervision. If you haven't attended a Thursday session before but would like to join, please contact Mhairi on .

Corporate Volunteering

You're very welcome to join our regular volunteering sessions as part of a corporate volunteering day. To ensure the sessions remain safe,  enjoyable and accessible for our regular volunteers, we can accommodate groups of up to six people within our weekly programme.

If you would like to arrange a volunteering day for a larger group, please take a look at our Group Experience Days.

Wildlife Surveying Volunteering

Farming is about much more than producing food. Caring for wildlife and reducing our environmental impact are central to our work, and volunteers play an important role in helping us create a more nature-friendly farm.

From March to October, volunteers can help survey the bumblebees and butterflies that call the farm home. No experience is necessary—we're a team of enthusiastic nature lovers rather than experts! That said, if you have wildlife identification skills or experience, we'd be delighted to hear from you.

If you'd like to find out more about getting involved with our wildlife surveys, please contact Mhairi on .

Your role as a volunteer is an hugely important part of our overall ethos and the work we do. We greatly value your input, both physical and in the form of any ideas or feedback you may have. The Farm operates a volunteering programme that is open to all, promoting community involvement and skills development within a sociable and supportive environment.

If you have specific support needs, please ensure you contact us well in advance and we will endeavour to provide you with what you need.
